In 2019, all Norwood City Council seats are up for grabs. The eight-person council is comprised of the President of Council, four ward representatives, and three at-large seats. All members of Council serve two-year terms.
There are six candidates for the three at-large seats in 2019. Voters can choose up to three on their ballots, but can also opt for fewer. To get to know the contenders, I interviewed Liam Shanahan (2:25), Danielle Black (16:03), James Bonsall (24:05) and Michael Gabbard (33:15) and Matt Geraci (44:15). The sixth candidate, J.R. Breadon, was not able to be reached.
In this, the fifth episode in the 2019 election series, we hear what the candidates think about community engagement and togetherness. Topics covered include:
- What to do to increase civic engagement
- Ways to make sure Norwood is a place for people of all backgrounds
- How to bring Norwood together as a city
