2019 represents an inflection point in the history of Norwood. For the first time in 16 years, the city will have a new mayor. Additionally, the President of Council will be new with Donna Laake retiring after eight years in the position. And that’s not to mention the hotly-contested City Council At Large seats.
To help citizens familiarize themselves with the candidates and the issues, I interviewed the contenders for the following races. The twist, though, is that the episodes are organized by-issue, rather than by-candidate. The purpose of this is to empower people to listen to the topics they care about and consider the view points of everyone involved.
Norwood Ohio City Council At Large Candidates
Norwood City Council is comprised of eight members. One is the President of Council. Four of them represent the city’s four different wards. Three others are members at large, which represent the city as a whole.
In 2019, six candidates have entered the At Large race, including Danielle Black, James Bonsall, J.R. Breadon, Michael Gabbard, Matt Geraci, Liam Shanahan. Voters can choose as many as three options on their ballots. The top three vote getters will serve a two-year term.
To learn where they stand on the key issues, I interviewed every candidate, except J.R. Breadon, who was not able to be reached. Click below to hear about the topic that is most important to you, or feel free to listen to them all in order.
